The beaver is a large semiaquatic mammal of the rodent order. The largest of the Old World rodents, and the second-largest rodent in the world after the capybara. The beaver family and the genus of beavers include 2 species—Canadian beavers that live in North America and European (Eurasian) beavers that inhabit Eurasia.
The body structure of the beaver is ideally adapted to a semiaquatic lifestyle. The head of the animals is large, flattened from above, with a narrow muzzle, expanding to the cheekbones. The neck is short and thick, without noticeable interception passes into the body.
The beaver’s fur is very dense and waterproof, protecting the animal from the cold and the teeth of predators. There are 12,000 to 23,000 hairs per cm of skin. The outer hair, 5-6 cm long, varies in color from reddish-brown to almost black. The undercoat is noticeably shorter, about 2-3 cm long, usually gray.
We hope these facts are as helpful to you as the drawing instructions below.

How to Draw a Beaver Face
- Outlining the head.
Draw the shape of the beaver’s head, expanding it towards the bottom and making it narrower at the top. At the top of the head depict furry hair.
- Draw the ears.
Draw small beaver ears on both sides of the head.
- Add details.
Texture the top of the beaver’s head by adding fur lines and detail the ears as shown in the example.
- Draw the eyebrows and nose.
On both sides at the top of the face, draw two oval eyebrows for your beaver. Then draw the nose of your cartoon beaver in the center of the face.
- Add parts of the face.
Draw two small round beaver eyes as in the example. Then draw the beaver’s oval-shaped muzzle by adding these lines just below the nose.
- Draw the beaver’s mouth.
Draw a line from under the beaver’s nose, then divide it into two curved parts and draw the mouth. Also detail the texture of the facial fur on the sides of the cheeks.
- Draw the beaver’s teeth.
To draw the beaver’s teeth, you need to draw a “U” shape under the mouth. Then, in the center of this shape, add a straight line dividing the tooth into two.
- Color your cute beaver’s face.
Color your cute cartoon beaver. We’ve shaded our artwork in brown, a common color for beavers.
