How to Draw a Bald Eagle

On June 20, 1782, the bald eagle officially became the national symbol of the United States of America after the Continental Congress, after six years of fierce debate, voted for the modern image of the state emblem of this country—the Great Seal. In the center of the emblem is an eagle with outstretched wings, which in its beak holds a scroll with an inscription in Latin: “E pluribus unum”, which can be translated as “Out of many, one”—a slogan designed to unite the nation. The eagle holds 13 arrows in one paw and an olive branch in the other. However, even before the approval of the coat of arms, the image of an eagle appeared in 1776 on a Massachusetts 1 cent coin.
Currently, the image of the eagle is widely used in various state attributes, including the presidential and vice presidential standards, the baton of the House of Representatives, army colors, the $1 bill and the 25-cent coin.

How to Draw a Bald Eagle
- Outline of the head.
Draw the simple shape of the bird’s head as in the example. Draw a more detailed bald eagle head using the eagle head drawing tutorial.
- Draw the beak and eyes.
Add the large eagle beak shape as well as a bird’s eye shape.
- Add details.
Draw the pupil of the bird, as well as the nostril and the bottom of the beak.
- Draw the body.
Extend two lines from under the head and create the shape of the eagle’s body. Draw the bottom of the body in detail, using wavy lines for feathers.
- Add the wing.
Draw the large wing of a flying bald eagle, as in the example.
- Draw the second wing.
Now depict the second wing of the bird, and also add a feather texture to the first wing of the bird.
- Draw the bird’s legs.
Depict the feet of the bald eagle using the example from this step.
- Add the tail.
Depict the long feathered tail of the eagle. For the shape of the tail, use wavy lines, as in the example.
- Color your bald eagle.
